Event Planner & Sales (Full-Time)

About You: We are looking for an organized, high-energy individual to join our Event Planning. The perfect fit for this role is someone proactive and detail-oriented with wedding or event planning experience.

What We’d Like From You:

Catering Sales

    • Identify prospective new clients through online research, attending networking events, community outreach, in-person canvassing, social media, and any other means that prove successful.
    • Contact prospective new clients by phone, email, and in person with the goal of selling new event business.
    • Convert both cold calls and warm leads into sold events.
    • Arrange, set up, and conduct tastings with prospective clients.
    • Add and maintain accurate account information in the Sales CRM in accordance with company policy and procedure.
    • Participate in regular sales team, office and company meetings.
    • Create and/or participate in marketing initiatives designed to generate sales from past, current and prospective clients. 
    • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
    • Consistently reach or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Guide clients throughout the entire event planning process, helping them to make decisions that best satisfy their budget, requirements, and expectations while upholding the standards and protocols of The Front Range Catering Co..
  • Work closely with your clients to design the look and feel of their events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of your client’s events including designing menus, conducting site reviews, arranging rentals, detailing service wares, creating itineraries, designing guest experiences, coordinating event staff, interfacing with venue & vendor staff, and resolving conflicts that may arise.
  • Meet your team on-site to greet the client, ensure your event is set-up for success, and if necessary, resolve any last-minute issues/concerns that arise.
  • Create all printed menus, stickers and signage for your events.
  • Select all decor for your events and provide instruction for its arrangement on-site.
  • Own your events from start to finish to ensure The Front Range Catering Co. exceeds the client’s expectations. 

Relationship Building

  • Create and nurture strong relationships with clients, vendors, venues, business groups, community organizations, and your fellow team members through regular communication and in-person interaction.
  • Regularly communicate and interact with your clients, vendors, venues and other relevant stakeholders in the local catering & events industry.
  • Regularly attend wedding showcases, networking events, charity events, social events and community functions.
  • Continually expand your knowledge of local and regional businesses and organizations.
  • Continually create and execute unique ways of strengthening new and existing relationships.
  • Foster deep trust and respect with your fellow team members.
  • Set yourself and The Front Range Catering Co. apart from all other catering providers through superior relationship building – both internally and externally.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate, detailed and timely records of your events and all relevant information related to them.
  • Communicate all required information pertaining to your events to the relevant stakeholders – on time and in full – so they may create the weekly paperwork, prep lists, delivery schedules, invoices, etc. for your events.
  • Update and maintain the Sales CRM in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by the company.

Required Education, Skill & Experience: 

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
  • Strong understanding of professional email, phone and in-person communication etiquette.
  • 1+ years of experience in hospitality sales and event management.

Preferred Education, Skill & Experience:

  • Associates or bachelors degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in hospitality sales and event management.
  • Experience with Event Planning & Catering Software.
  • Experience with CRM software. (Hubspot, Zoho, Salesforce, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities: On-Call Team Members.

Work Environment: The Front Range Catering Co. business office & on-site at your events.

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to be active on your feet for extended periods without rest.
  • The ability to lift 30 pounds without assistance.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work: 

  • Full-Time
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8 am – 5 pm
  • Weekends, nights, and/or holidays as required by your events.

Travel: Locally – to and from your events.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of Boulder and the surrounding areas.

Other Stuff to Know:

  • The majority of your time will be spent in-office during normal business hours but you will be expected to attend the start of your events to connect with the client, venue manager and event captain to ensure your event and your team are set up for success.
